THE BACKSTORY
"They'll deactivate you if we fail – then we'll never free my Mom and Dad from your planet! So let's rock it!"
Emmi is passionate about protecting the environment. Just like her parents, eco-researchers who are on the verge of a breakthrough with their zero-emission chip – or rather, they were!
Because ever since their sailboat was found abandoned on the ocean, everyone is convinced: the sea has taken Emmi's parents!
Only Emmi knows better! Living with her grandpa, she skips school and ignores homework, determined to find a sign of life from her Mom and Dad.
And she finally does – only completely "other" than expected!
Three robotic beings – the former SURFschool roBOTS Curly, Mick and Duke – crash their spaceship into a nearby sand dune, bringing an urgent message: Because of her invention of the zero-emission chip, Emmi's parents were abducted to a climate-comatose planet.
Indeed, the test units of the ubiquitous work robots there now run emission-free – only now they are also alive like you and me!
But are living robots with real emotions and a free will dangerous for the life on their home planet?
Testing this is better done on less developed planets and so the destinies of Emmi and the Surfbots unite into one: Earn 1000 Posichips in 100 days through good deeds for life on Earth – or the Surfbots will be deactivated and Emmi never gets her parents back!
An intergalactic adventure full of courage, perseverance and team spirit begins ...
... if only there weren't that Space Pirate, Emmi's sneaky classmate and all these challenges on Earth!
THE TEAM
EMMI
Courageous, persistent and damn clever – whereby the latter tends to turn into know-it-all, especially when it comes to environmental matters.
The 11-year-old schoolgirl pretends to be the inventor of the Surfbots so that no one discovers the true origin of the three alien life forms.
CURLY
Clever, quick-witted and organized. If there's a leader among the three Surfbots, then it's her - even if she's sometimes a bit too strict, especially with Mick.
Her Power-Animal is the Octopus. With her Octo-Swirl-Power, she can produce swirls of all kinds.
MICK
Spontaneous, reckless and somehow always in action. Mick is the jokester of the Amazing Surfbots Eco Rescue Team, but often enough a little too carefree.
His Power-Animal is the Marlin. With his Marlin-Turbo-Power, he is fast as lightning.
DUKE
Relaxed, well-read and damn strong. He is undoubtedly the lovable rock of the team - even if he somehow always struggles to make decisions.
His Power-Animal is the Manta Ray. With his Manta-Wave-Power, he can create powerful waves.
THE NUTTY INVENTOR
Sascha "Utti" Utecht
Sascha is a father, an every-day-a-little-better-environmentalist, and a huge adventure story fan.
His love for the ocean, surfing and new experiences has led the German-born comedy lover (this combination is actually possible!) to the Portuguese Atlantic coast, where he now lives with his wife and son.
There, the (rock) music enthusiast pursues his most important mission in life alongside his family: telling children about the sustainability problems of our time with positivity, humor and of course a huge dose of action - so without scaremongering and know-it-all chatter!
Because children need fun, adventure and teamwork in order to courageously and persistently face everything that may come their way ... and what they didn't even mess up!
