For wrapping food, most people use aluminum foil or plastic wrap. But producing the often single-used aluminum foil requires lots of energy - and plastic wrap is simply more plastic, which pollutes our Earth!
Eco rescue heroes like YOU are needed!
Thanks to our friends the bees, there is a super powerful alterntive that keeps food fresh and doesn't harm the environment - beeswax! As an eco rescue hero, you can use this BEESWAX POWER for making beeswax wraps!
Step 1: Get equipment ready and cut the fabric to the desired size.
Step 2: Melt beeswax in a can/jar in a bain-marie (water shouldn't boil).
Step 3: Place the fabric on a layer of baking paper and pour the hot wax over the fabric. Place a second piece of baking paper on top. Then iron at medium heat.
Step 4: You can see how the wax spreads. When the fabric is completely soaked, carefully remove it from the baking paper (Excess wax on the baking paper you can reuse). Hold the fabric briefly between your fingertips to dry. DONE!
BEESWAX WRAPS can be used to store, transport and even freeze food (except meat, fish, poultry/egs) or as a cover. Clean them with lukewarm water & washing-up liquid and they will last for about a year!
Beeswax plate or pastilles (untreated), cotton or linen fabric e.g. from an old shirt (washed), scissors, baking paper, rinsed tin can or jam jar for melting wax, iron.
Melted wax and the iron get hot! Recruit an adult to assist with these steps of your Eco Rescue Mission!
Once the beeswax wrap gets cracks, simply put it between baking paper strips again and iron over it!

Sneaky bosses in the plastic industry have invented an “indifference ray”.
Whoever is hit by it believes that plastic is harmless to the environment.
Now even in YOUR neighborhood, more and more people dump plastic waste in the environment instead of in the designated garbage cans!
Eco rescue heroes like YOU are needed!
Become a PLASTIC PIRATE and scavenge the plastic waste carelessly dumped into the environment of your neighborhood!
Plastic bottles, bags, packaging, straws and even cigarette filters - almost everything is made of plastic and must be disposed of properly!
Step 1: Grab your gear (see EQUIPMENT).
Step 2: Choose a route, playground, beach, forest or similar.
Step 3: For bigger loot, you can build a pirate crew with family & friends!
Step 4: Gather as much stray plastic in the garbage bags as possible and put it in the designated trash can!
EXTRA: If you want to tell us about your plastic raid, then do the following before disposing of the plastic waste: a) weigh all the filled bin bags with the bathroom scales and calculate the total weight, b) take a photo of your triumph over the sneaky activities of the plastic villains.
Garbage bags, protective gloves and/or a trash picker. Possibly a bathroom scale and a camera.
Plastic waste can be sharp or dirty. To avoid injuries, always be careful and if in doubt, ask an adult!
Whenever you are outside, throw some stray plastic waste into a garbage can - for our planet every good deed counts!
